The first-ever Detroit Comic show .... and I was there!

This past weekend was the inaugural Detroit Comic and Toy Show. It was a one-day event, held at the Ford Center For Performing Arts in Dearborn, Michigan. I had the chance to attend, and buy a few books as well. It was extremely comic-heavy, with much less focus on toys, Funko Pops, and cosplay...which was non-existent. It was much closer to the comic cons of "old", when you had comic book dealers, and nothing else. This was great for any old-school comic fans, like myself, and the amount of vintage comics was amazing. That being said, there were some downsides as well. First off, the traffic was lighter than expected. With C2E2 being the same weekend in Chicago, and the NFL Draft being held in Detroit for the first time ever, the timing of the first-ever Detroit Comic Show was not the best. Oh well...more comics for the rest of us! The only other negative aspect of the show was that some of the bigger dealers that attended were pricing their books like it was 2022 all over again. That was kind of disappointing, but the window shopping was still great! Overall, still a solid show, so congrats to Martin, who organized the entire thing. Hope you do it again next year!

So, if you weren't able to attend, but want to see what it was like, you're in luck. I took quite a bit of video footage during the day...all for you. Check out the link below to watch it!
